Director's Cut

The bar has been set and we will raise it higher!

Last year, this departmennt took an important step. It decided that "good-enough" was, in fact, not good enough. It decided that excellence and professional theatre are not just dreams. It decided to see what benefits true dedication, initiative, and focus would get it.

It is easy to see that those decisions paid off. The first State High School Play Festival appearance in KMHS history, one of the most successful musicals in years, and a new International Thespian Society Troupe are just a few of the accolades earned last year. These were the first steps toward a solid tradition of success, respect, and the highest-quality theatre around.

We are set this year to build on the success of last year and continue making strides forward. With enrollment up to a staggering 305 students from roughly 220 last year, the interest in KMHS theatre is growing, and with it greater success will follow. Our season is one that will test the department again and hopefully prove that the step taken last year will set the new standard of KMHS Theatre.

Help KMHS Theatre!

KMHS Theatre needs your help! We are a program set to achieve great things in the years to come. A significant part of that success will depend on your support. If you or someone you know wish to donate to our growing department, download this letter and form, send it to the high school with your check, and we will add you to our list.

Also, if you want to support us through non-monetary means, we do have a need for the tools that make the tech of a play happen. Here are some of the items that we need the most:

Sewing machines

Theatrical Make-up

Power Drills

Circular Saws/blades

Table Saw

Compound Mitre Saw

Band Saw

Router

If you can help us with any of these needs, please contact us at info@kmhstheatre.com.
